@JMaxB There is a fascinating study from 2011 showing that organizing emails into folders takes on average 67 hours a year. And makes it harder to find your messages.
@patrickrhone Thanks! We are nowhere near your level of creating a ‘wow’ house, but are learning something at every step.
@jeroensangers Also, I love the wood of the frame we found after removing several layers of paint.
@Gaby Yes, but is still not optimized for use by touch ☹️
@jeroensangers I have not been able to solve the issues, even after a factory reset. Unfortunately, I have to purchase a new phone. At least I don’t have to go places the coming days, so I will manage without a phone.
@jlrevilla Sí, era hoy
@matthewlang Sure, everyone has to find the workflow that fits best.
@matthewlang Funny, I am going the other way, converting all my newsletter subscriptions to RSS feeds.
I treat my feeds as a ‘river of news’ where I dip in and out (mark all as read is my friend), while email is something I want to keep up with and process it all.
@Mandalorian That’s why you should never take off your helmet!
@ton It is always interesting to see the workflows of other people. (I know, I should really write a post about mine).
This caught my eye, since I ran into the same issue:
> Until last week’s Zotero update I could easily grab those highlights and notes using a plugin and save them in markdown into my Obsidian notes vault. The update broke the plugin, so that flow is temporarily out of order.
I assume you’re talking about the ZotFile plugin.
One of the reasons the latest Zotero update broke the plugin is because Zotero has not a built-in feature to extract annotations from a PDF file. You can access this function from the Notes sidebar in the built-in PDF reader. Just click on the + button next to Item Notes and select “Add Item Note from Annotations”.

@hexadecima I know of someone who was already in a bad place when she started reading this book and because of that got stuck in the ‘finitude’ concept, without getting the liberating feeling of accepting her finitude.
@hexadecima I would recommend this book to everyone who is not going through a midlife crisis
@mangochutney Those look solid!
@Miraz I used to collect my places in a dedicated app called Rego, but a few years ago I discovered the collections in Maps.
@lmika This reminds me of the chapter called «Staying on the Bus» in Four Thousand Weeks by Oliver Burkeman
@Mandalorian Thanks, I’m going to try that out
@odd I suppose on iOS you might be able to create something using WidgetSmith… though I hve no clue whether WidgetSmith can show a random line from a text file.
@odd I already figured it out: I simply used the 𝚫 function in Roam Research to have them show up on my Daily Notes page.
@odd I was thinking of looking for a way to have them show up randomly for inspiration.
@agilelisa In my experience, for a book to make an impact, it has to arrive in your life at the right moment. If you are not ready for the message or just read some books with similar content, you might not get as much out of reading the book.
@patrickrhone I just decided to implement something similar, with three sections on my ‘Today’s tasks’ note:
@Cheri 🤣🤣🤣
@ohBananaJoe Every tool has an agenda
@Cheri Receiving a message starting like this would surely lighten up my day 🤗
