@pratik That is exactly what Iβm asking myself each time I install a new app.
@ohBananaJoe Enjoy it while it lasts!
@ohBananaJoe Nice and green view!
@ChrisJWilson Just a few minutes ago I was sent this article in which the author basically answers your question. Myself, after updating to iOS 15 I played around a little bit, created several focus modes and rapidly came to the conclusion that I had overcomplicated my life. For the moment I'll stick with the regular Do Not Disturb mode. By the way, when defining the focus mode I wish there was a was to block specific people or apps. Now the only way to block an app in a focuss mode is by explicitly allowing all other apps. Maybe in iOS 15.2β¦
@adders Thanks for the heads up!
@colinwalker I also like the new design, though it feels like it is not finished yet.
Some of the problems put forward by John Gruber are definitely an issue, such as the difficulty telling which is the current βtabβ.
@ChrisJWilson Done!
@pyrmont I could migrate my personal email to iCloud. Now it's forwarded to my business email since I don't want to deal with multiple mailboxes. As soon as Apple will let me move my business email as well (without obliging my clleagues to migrate as well), then I will be ready to make the jump.
@amit And many times I am disappointed as I connect and find out that it is βthe other oneβ.
@patrickrhone Amazing how far you can get using the friends-of-friends network. (Wasnβt that the original idea behind LinkedIn?)
@toddgrotenhuis All my notes are inspired by actual studies, which then are the basis of some reflection and introspection of my own after which I condense it all down to a declaration of one or two sentences.
In this case, my statement is based on a large-scale study recently published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology: doi.apa.org/getdoi.cf...
@agilelisa I've heard worse reasons to moveβ¦
@patrickrhone Yes, I remember that (except for the lunch with the former Prime Minister). The area from these images was one of the recomendations I sent you las year.
@ohBananaJoe I simply track my reading on the micro.blog Bookshelves.
@warner It all depends on your intentions at that moment, not so much the specific platform.
@ohBananaJoe A three year old phone should get at least three more years of updates!
@patrickrhone I to prefer real books, but also admit that ebooks are better in two situations:
@JohnPhilpin MailChimp has stopped being a email marketing platform when they decided to focus on advertising in general and charge customers by number of contacts instead of subscribers.
@patrickrhone Eternally true
@renevanbelzen I usually watch the presentation simply because they are interesting and entertaning to me. I have found no personal correlation between watching tech presentations and buying new gadgets.
@maique I will be watching the event, but not with any intention to buy. My iPhone 7 is still going strong after I replaced its battery last month and I don't need or want a smartwatch.
@danielpunkass Beeminder does for weight goals
@manton Great! I will check it out tonight. π
@colinwalker Congratutions! I wish you all the best in this new chapter.
