@nekr0z Very simple: I want a hosted solution (so I don’t have to worry about servers, software updates, plug-ins, etc.) and I want it to be Indieweb compatible. Of the few options I have found that fulfill those wishes, I like Micro.blog best.

@handy Luckily you can save podcast episodes so you don’t have to listen to the on their publication date.
@Gaby Another one: Last caress from Metallica performed by Local H
@jeroensangers Eufriction is good friction
@Gaby Lovesong is a song from The Cure, covered fabulously by Adele and 311.
Some of my favourite covers: Oh Well (Fleetwood Mac) by Deep Purple, Blister in the sun (Violent Femmes) by Nouvelle Vague, Where is my mind (Pixies) by Maxence Cyrin and Nothing else matters (Metalica) by Chris Stapleton
@jeroensangers There is a huge gap between what scientists know (in this case: have known for decades) and what is currently applied in many organizations.
@jeroensangers Attention residue reflects the persistence of cognitive activity about a Task A even though one stopped working on Task A and currently performs a Task B.
@iChris So true… they also destroyed ‘friends’.
@amit My theory on this is that if you cover your expensive device with a 10$ piece of silicone, you’re going to treat it as a 10$ device. I constantly see people doing horrible things to their phones: toss it into a bag full with heave and/ or sharp objects, holding it very loosely…
In contrast, without a case you really feel the actual value of the device.
Whenever I have to hand my caseless phone to someone, they usually treat it very, very carefully, often even holding it with both hands.
In short, phones with a case get dropped more often and will likely get damaged before a caseless phone.
@amit I feel you. I also carry my phone caseless and still remember the feeling you described from the last time I dropped my phone.
@patrickrhone Wow! Beautiful shot,
@jean 🥳
@SimonWoods I would like that
@chrisaldrich Now that is what I call digesting a good book.
@colinwalker I think the indieweb should offer a wide range of solutions.
The current range of libraries and plugins makes it possible for hardcore technicians to join the Indieweb, but there are also tools like micro.blog which are accessible for anybody.

@ReaderJohn I hardly ever use Amazon.
I don’t think there is a big difference in data collection between the Kindle device and the Kindle app, since on iOS the apps are pretty well sandboxed.
@jl_siewert What makes the iPad and Kindle attractive for me is the integrated book store. I don’t want to have to search and download books and transfer them to my device.
I don’t know the Tolino device you mention, but assume it has no integrated book store.
@warner It’s those little details that make me love some products.
@jean Roam Research here, loving the life at block level.
@Mandalorian Instead of working on your time management you should practice saying the word “Nein”.
@Mandalorian More info here…
@garo According to the authors, 99% of the books should be read using the techniques of inspectional reading and, in my opinion, their own book falls in this category.
I think a good summary would suffice to get an idea of the methods explaines in the book.
@garo Agree. The only think I would change to the current pin system is to see which pins I don’t have and how to get them for my private collection
